A crowd of nearly 200 attended the 2009 East Coast Eagles presentation night last Friday night at the Castle Hill RSL Club. The Eagles' presentation night is always a highlight of the football year, but made even more special this year as the club received its first ever Premier Division flag.

Whilst receiving the flag was the highlight of the night, the club also acknowledged award winners in all grades as well as recognising the invaluable effort of its volunteers and the contribution of the club's fantastic sponsors.
Jon Vlatko capped off a stellar year, his best ever at the Eagles, by being named Club Champion on the night, polling 84 votes closely followed by century kicking goal scorer, Gus Seebeck who polled 80 votes.
The club also named Jack Dimery as the 2009 Eagles' Rising Star and acknowledged Mark Skuse, in his first year at the Eagles, in being voted by his peers the players player.
In a passionate speech, senior coach Glenn Garner thanked the club for the many years of effort that has enabled East Coast to achieve the results it has this year and set the challenge to the club to work even harder to remain the premier football club in the AFL Sydney competition.
Josh Shephard was named the Bill McLeod medallist for Division 1 polling 105 votes, followed by runner up Cory Durie on 97. Josh was named Best and Fairest in the Under 18’s in 2007 and 2008 and will no doubt go on to bigger and better things at the Eagles.
The Eagles also recognised Tammy Moeller and Julie Whale for their tireless efforts throughout 2009 along with Tim Jenson who took home the Clubman of the Year.
Also attending on the night were West Coast Eagles CEO Trevor Nisbett, Supporter Operations Manager David Elliott and Claire Ryan, the West Coast Eagles Melbourne Manager. Trevor acknowledged the club's achievements in 2009 and once again went on to commit the support of the West Coast Eagles through 2010 and beyond. The West Coast Eagles also presented their Eastern counterparts with a magnificent framed memento celebrating the 2009 season.
