Comments:
If we can double our Coterie Club membership in 2011, we could:
·          Increase membership subs collection to                         $4,680.00
(Note that Coterie Membership will remain at $10 / round for 18 rounds in 2011)
·          Increase participation on Thursday nights                       $3,000.00         (beer sales)
by 50% (estimate)
·          Increase Dimmie sales on Thursday nights                      $1,150.00
by 50% (estimate)
Which means a total nett revenue increase of                             $3,748.00        over the same period in 2010.
·          This could allow us to increase weekly best Player Awards by 50% to $75 and $50 respectively.
An increase in ‘cost’ of                                                  $810.00
·          Plus plan for further expenditure on                              $To be decided
behalf of the Club.

Can each Coterie Club member is to personally recruit one additional person they know to our Coterie Club.
Coterie Club ‘membership’ is conditional in 2011 on also becoming an East Coast Eagles Club member.
The Coterie Club will be actively promoted via the Website and Newsletters to actively seek new members.

=======================================================================

In 2009, the East Coast Eagles Coterie Club was kicked off on a trial basis to determine how we would like to see it work and what benefits it could bring to the Club.

In case you don’t know what such a Club is, the word "coterie" is of French origin and means "a gathering of friends." The essence of the Coterie Club is building ‘friends of the Eagles” who will participate in varied activities associated with the Football club and supporting it financially by collecting and contributing funds for the players and the Club itself, separately to what the Board of Directors are able to do.

Perhaps the best known example of a Coterie Club in AFL footy is the one conducted by Carlton in Melbourne.  See www.bluescoterie.com to review their website. Whilst we are a long way from their magnitude, everything must start somewhere and within several weeks the Eagles Coterie will have its own section within the East Coast Eagles website.

At present the Eagles Coterie has around $750 in accumulated funds which has arisen from the original eleven members from 2009.  Peter Physick has administered the Coterie in 2009 and is happy to do so again in 2010 as we grow it to larger proportions. In 2009, the weekly membership cost was $10, giving a total contribution of $180 across the minor round season.

·         The weekly best player cash award for Reserve Grade.

·         Sundry items which Bruce Purser Reserve needed.

·         T-Shirts for water runners.

·         The occasional alcoholic beverage for Coterie Members.

In 2010, we have decided that rather than raise the membership cost, we would actively seek new Members to the Coterie, thus expanding our network base and building funds for the benefit of the Club.  The forthcoming web page(s) within the East Coast Eagles site will outline as best we can, the future aims and initiatives of the Coterie.

Of course as the member facilities grow across the future years at Bruce Purser Reserve, we will have the ideal foundation to provide viewing comfort for all Coterie members and their families at Eagles’ home matches.

You now have the chance to become an inaugural member of the Coterie as it and the Football Club continue to develop our off field support base.

We are actively seeking Sponsors, Businesses, Members and supporters to initially register their interest in joining the Eagles Coterie by sending an e-mail to Peter Physick.     The weekly cost is $10, or if it suits your purpose, the full yearly amount of $180 can be accepted up front.

Upon receipt of your registration of interest, Peter will respond with a Coterie application form.

Please contact Peter to register your interest by e-mailing him at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

With many thanks and see you at Bruce Purser for Round 1 on April 10th .....
